There’s something about the rain
That is so nostalgic
Every time it falls
We reminisce
Bright lights and happy faces
Dark space and broken hearts.

There’s something about the rain
That is so powerful
People scatter
All over the place
To find shelter
Instead of dancing with joy
As if the rain is an acid
When all it does
Is to bless.

There’s something about the rain
And the smell of the tar road
That makes us
Like a drug addict
Sniffing with satisfaction
Before it fades away
Replaced by the warm rays
Of sunshine.

And there’s something about after the rain
Like a tsunami just washed away
All the vices and its people
Leaving only
The wet earth
The foggy air
The cool wind that brushes our cheeks
Making us snuggling
And folding our arms
In comfort and smiles.
